The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has recognized FC Shakhtar Donetsk as the world’s best promoted team in the 21st century. The statement notes that the Ukrainian team with its long-standing Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu was not placed in the 20th century rankings for European clubs, but catapulted to 24th place in the IFHHS ranking.
Dynamo Kyiv is 31st in the table.
Spain’s Barcelona was recognized as the world’s best club of the first decade of the 21st century, ahead of England’s Manchester United and Liverpool.
Barcelona will be honored as the world’s club of the 1st decade on the occasion of the World Football Gala 2011 with a certificate and a golden trophy, and Shakhtar Donetsk and Sevilla FC, as the world’s best promoted teams of the 1st decade, with a silver trophy.
Ukrainians schould be proud of such famous football-team.
