Museum is located in the center of Odessa, close to the old City park. It is situated in the building, constructed in 1876 for a famous trader of that time after the style of late Renaissance. Its exposition includes documents, publication, items of visual and ornamental art, numismatic collections, weapons of XVII-XIX centuries, connected with the history of Odessa. In 1994 museum was completely restored, including the interior of the halls of a building which used to be a palace of noble men. Also the court yard was completely reconstructed and turned to be a small park with a graceful fountain “Grot”.
