Museum is situated in one of the old buildings on Langeronovskiy slope which used to be house for homeless loaders of the port. Being created in 1990 museum is still developing. Nowadays its exposition consists of 5 halls with total area of 490 square meters. Exhibits include rare schemes, maps, old engravings which represent history of Black Sea region. In the halls of the museum there are items found during excavations, copies and originals of unique documents, reconstruction of Zmeiniy Island, antique anchor which was found there. Also there are unique schemes which show how Odessa region used to look and some plans of developing and reconstruction of the port.
