Ukrainian singer Mika Newton, with her song “Angels,” will perform in the second semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 under No.6. The draw for the contest was made in Dusseldorf, Germany, on March 15, the press service of the contest’s organizing committee told an UKRINFORM correspondent in Germany.
Poland will open the first semifinal, which will be held on May 10, while Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the first to perform in the second semifinal on May 12. Greece and Ireland will perform last in the first and second semifinals respectively.
In general, the positions were drawn between 38 countries participating in the first and second semifinals. For the Grand Final, the starting positions of the so-called Big 5 countries (Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom) were also drawn, with one of them getting a wildcard to freely choose their starting position: France (11), Italy (12), the United Kingdom (14), Germany (16), and Spain (22, wildcard).
