This is the biggest museum devoted to Ukraine in the World War II which was opened in 1981. The complex occupies territory of more the 10 ha. It includes museum and monument “Motherland”, main square with the Alley of the hero-towns and sculptural compositions, high relief compositions, eternal light, exposition of military machines. In the halls of the museum there are over 15 thousand exhibits which represent the process of World War II on the territory of Ukraine. The sculpture “Motherland” is 102 m high and is the biggest monument is Ukraine as well as one of the biggest in the world.
