My father is a Polish national born in Wolyn and was taken away by the NAZIs in 1943. He would like to come for one last visit to his homeland but is concerned that he may not be welcome. He lived in the villages of Suchodoly, Sielec and Markostaw. What is the advisability of traveling in that area possibly with a hired guide? How accessible are those areas today? Would the current citizens be receptive to him? While he would love to see his old homes none of us want to create any problems.
We were considering coming to Lviv by train and then north as far as Volodymyr and then back to Poland, probably Jaroslaw.
Any advice or assistance would be appreciated!
