Kievo-Pecherskiy Historical and Cultural Reserve

This is the most famous monastery of the Eastern Europe, first community of monks in Rus. It is protected by UNESCO. For the orthodox Christians this relic is one the third place after Jerusalem and mountain Athon. The monastery was founded in 1051 by Saint Antoniy and Feodosiy. There are over 120 reliquiae in the caves of Lavra. The territory of the monastery divides into two parts: Upper and Lower Lavra. On the territory of Upper Lavra was Nikolskiy hospital monastery before revolution. On the territory of the Lower Lavra there are caves and Guest house. There are also church which was built in XI century and the highest bell tower in Ukraine on the territory of the monastery.
