A visa-free agreement between Ukraine and Israel for short-term trips of citizens takes effect on Wednesday, February 9, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov told reporters Tuesday.
According to him, in this connection Israeli Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov will visit Ukraine on February 9-10.
Starting Wednesday Ukrainian and Israeli citizens will be able to enter the territory of another state, pass through or stay on it without obtaining a visa for 90 days during 180 days.
The intergovernmental agreement on the abolition of visas between Ukraine and Israel for short trips of citizens was signed in July 2010.
Israel expects that with the abolition of the visa regime the influx of tourists from Ukraine will grow to 200,000 people a year.
