The Kherson State University (Kherson, southern Ukraine) has opened a branch of the Israeli Cultural Centre.
Throughout the school year, scientific conferences will be held there, as well as various competitions and lectures on the history and culture of Israel, leadership projects, festivals and concerts. Tourist and educational projects in Israel are also planned.
As stressed by the First Secretary of Israeli Embassy in Ukraine, Mark Dovev, the purpose of the Center is cultural rapprochement between Ukraine and Israel.
According to him, Hebrew courses have been functioning at Kherson State University for several months. With the opening of the center, the range of projects is increasing: those are lectures and meetings with representatives of the academic world of Israel, the world of art, businessmen. Student conferences and movie screenings will also be conducted.
Mark Dovev delivered a lecture on Modern Israel to the students and faculty of the University.
