Films by First National TV Channel to be screened in Cannes

A new series of Ukrainian documentary films dubbed “Life lost” will be shown April 2-4 at the international showcase for documentary and factual programme screenings MIPDOC 2011 in Cannes, France.

The films tell about women who have been sentenced to life imprisonment. The shooting took place at a women’s prison in Ukraine.

Of the Life lost ten main characters, only three plead guilty. Others consider themselves to have been unjustly convicted. All of them, being in prison for life prisoners, have left a world filled with colors of life forever.

“We are not going to estimate these women: whether they are good or bad. The aim of our project is to show their inner world,” First National TV chief producer Oleksiy Semenov.

The First National TV will air the Life lost films in mid-April, UKRINFORM reported citing the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting.

MIPDOC is the largest international showcase for documentary and factual programme screenings. Mipdoc is where the market begins for producers and distributors of documentaries and factual programmes for TV, ?lm, Internet and digital media.
