World heavyweight boxing champion in the WBC version Vitali Klitschko sets the date of the fight with Cuban Odlanier Solis. Ukrainian meets with Solis on March 19th, 2011 in Cologne at the Cologne Arena.
As you know, Solis is the mandatory challenger for the title of world champion under WBS version, which is owned by Klitschko. According to unofficial data, Solis gets for this fight 1,4 million euros. At the same time, the promotional company of Klitschko brothers named “K2 Promotions” receives the rights to broadcast this fight. It’s not yet known what will be Vitali Klitschko’s income for this fight.
It will be recalled that Solis has won the right to meet Klitschko in December 2010, beating American Ray Austin, who was disqualified for hitting after the bell. In professional boxing Solis, who became Olympic champion in 2004 in Athens, had 17 fights, and all won.
Klitschko-senior had the last defense of his title in October 2010. Ukrainian won American boxer Shannon Briggs.
