Total deposits in February 2011 increased by 0.6% (YTD – 2.9%) – to UAH 425.7 billion, finds a review by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on the major trends in the monetary market of Ukraine. Growth of deposits in February was achieved through individual deposits, which grew by 1.9% (from the beginning of the year – 3.9%) up to UAH 282.4 billion (USD 1 – UAH 7.935).
Corporate deposits for the month reduced by 1.9% (from the beginning of the year they grew by 0.9%) – up to UAH 143.3 billion.
In the structure of a rise in individual deposits dominating are deposits in the hryvnia.
The share of long-term deposits in the total volume for February 2011 rose by 0.5 p.p. and as of March 1, 2011 amounts to 32.1% (after 31.6% as of February 1, 2011 and 31.4% as of early year).
