CLUBS

Thursday 2

Felix da Housecat (US).

“Popular” and “immense” are just two small words describing the sound and abilities of electro-house deejay Felix da Housecat, who will play Arena nightclub for their big Playboy party. His creative energy, ability to dabble in producing both mainstream albums and underground club hits has brought him to the forefront of DJ music culture. Smooth, vibro-licious beats with lots of funk. Get out to see this man!

Friday 3 - Sunday 5

Project “Lyudi” (”People”).

Various DJs have been invited from Russia, Italy and elsewhere to play for the large, four-day “Lyudi” (”People”) festival at floating Moda Bar down on the Dnipro River. While the festival began Thursday, Friday will see DJ Fuzzy Hair (Italy), Saturday DJ Miller (Moscow), and Sunday R ‘n’ B DJ DLee. It’s being billed as “club life in a new format,” but from the looks of the ads, we think “Lyudi” is more of a slick political PR event for a campaigning politician.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Saturday 4

The Drum 4-year anniversary.

Esteemed Scottish bar owner/rock guitarist Euan McDonald will lead celebrations at his tiny but influential pub, the Drum (known to locals as Baraban), this Saturday. Smoky, dingy and always buzzing, the Drum is an ex-pat favorite because it feels like pubs back home. For those who know it, expect to see lots of familiar faces there. And even for those who don’t, expect the same.

The Drum (4 Prorizna, through the gate and to the left, 279-2355).
