5 Tips for Choosing a Spot for Ukrainian Vacations

4. What’s close?

If you are not planning to spend the whole Ukrainian vacation on the same place, esp. going as a big band, be sure to pick a place with many attractions around. Crimea is always a good option for active time-pass, you’ll easily find a new place to go each day for about two weeks or so. The same with any side of Carpathians. Lots of spots in and around Kyiv, Lviv a little less around Odessa. Industrial centers like Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk will give you poor options for that.

5. Never go too far into the country alone.

That’s just to warn you that there are places where they’ve never heard of Internet, do not speak any language except surzhyk (a mix of Ukrainian, Russian, sometimes Belarussian, Hungarian, Romanian, Moldavian and hell knows what else) and are sure it’s you who should answer the questions.

Well, and that’s when you have to ask more questions! Comments, please))
