aka tertiukhy, odorous crispy roasted pancakes with made of grated potatoes. Served with meat, mushrooms, sour cream, fried salo, mustard or sause. Though most delicious when prepared by my hubs while I’m sleeping!
5. Varenyky

small pies cooked by boiling, stuffed with all sorts of things: wild berries, mushrooms, meat, potatoes, brynza. You might also meet varenyky with Athens. LOL, don’t expect any Greek ruins inside – I was myself surprised to find this is a local name for bilberry not even known in other parts of Ukraine.
To be true, the worst state you can come to Carpathians in is being on a diet! The cuisine is truly Ukrainian, portions quite generous and prices not even close to those in Kyiv.
