Old Ukrainians had kids too! But they did not have any Fisher-Price, Chicco or at least Tolo! How did they manage? Ukrainians made toys by themselves using the following:
1. Clay
Of clay they shaped dolls, horses, birds, etc. Toys were made mostly by wives of potters for their own use. And kids were supposed to play with that stuff.
2. Wood
There were same shapes of wooden figures, whistles and funny figures paired on the planks imitating bears, blacksmiths or weavers working.
3. Straw
Was used by the kids themselves, who made different fancy toys you could not always tell what they were. Straw was also used for a special Easter-doll.
