Museum of Odessa port behalf F.P. De Volan was based April 10, 1990 and was open to the 200-year anniversary of Odessa. It situated in one of the oldest buildings on Lanzheronovskaya descent, which before the revolution were barzhany – lodging-houses for the homeless stevedores of the port.

The main purpose of this museum has been raising and organization of the exposition, which introduces visitors to the past and the present port of Odessa, is inextricably linked with the history of Odessa.

Start the richest collections of the museum put its founder – the first museum director Nicholay Grygorevich Gleb-Koshanskii – a career officer, a veteran of World War II, the last battle path from Kharkov (February 1942), to Stalingrad, and then to the walls of Berlin.
