In Ukraine, over a recent week four fatal outcomes were registered from flu of A/H1N1 type, Deputy Director for organization of sanitary-epidemiological supervision of the Health Ministry Anton Parusov told a press conference.
In particular, he specified, fatal outcomes were fixed in Donetsk, Chernihiv, Lviv and Kharkiv regions.
Therefore, 15 persons died of flu A/H1N1 in Ukraine since the start of the epidemiological season.
Parusov also informed that in Ukraine less than 4% of schools closed for today.
Earlier, Head of the Department for respiratory and other viral infections of the Hromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases under the Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences Alla Myronenko said that during this flu epidemic in Ukraine, in addition to viruses A/H1N1, A/H1N3 and B type, a new virus ?/H3N2 will circulate, however it will not be pandemic, but seasonal.
Pandemic virus A/H1N1 also can circulate, but its role, according to Myronenko, will be “secondary” and it will not lead to such problems, like last year.
According to a forecast of the scientific worker, this year approximately 3 million persons will fall ill this year.
